Yes Kael Love, we did indeed make those connections and "get" all of that, and I agree it was an important scene.
They were ALL important scenes in this finale.

You can't help but wonder though, why the writers chose such a sardonic twist to that scene.

The very fact that the king made such a landing at King's Landing, showed a bit of mockery and dark humor on the part of the writers.
And my son pulled that out of the air even as it was happening...and THAT is what we were laughing about.

Had this been a comedy, which it is at times albeit a dry humor, a narator would have been standing at the bottom of the keep when Tommen hit the ground saying the very same thing.
Don't you remember Monty Python & the Holy Grail? Or any of Monty Python's Flying Circus for that matter?
Having grown up with those myself, and having the dvds for the kids to watch, has given us all rather interesting viewpoints when it comes to cinema.

Hell, we even replay the gory scenes in slow motion, just to see how the special effects are done!

I found that the most interesting thing to see at the end of this season is how, with the exception of Jon Snow, it is all women in charge.
There should be some very interesting cat fights next season  



And Pure, no Love, I have not seen that yet. I don't even know what it's all about. If it's a reality based show, we avoid those.
There's enough reality in our own lives to satisfy us.
