OK, So here's the deal! Earlier today I installed a plugin that allowed for thread reversal on selected boards. We had this on some boards on the old forum, and I thought it might be nice here. The idea is to have the most recent post up at the top of page 1, Instead of (on some very long threads) scrolling to page 4,5,6 etc (or down the road even more.) A few boards cannot be a party to this, such as Price Checks & Guides, where the important information is on the first post and will get buried if reversed. I thought it might be nice however for trade threads,( most recent bid on top) as well as Titles, Introductions, and anything else where the newer mentions are right there. I have seen a few comments in favor of and against, so I'm going to let you all decide... so vote your choice and if you leave a comment, BE NICE!  |

I feel like it just doesn't work for the market. I think the most important post is the original one, which lists the items to be bought or sold.
Also, overall, I think I'm against it. It takes about 3 seconds to get to the most recent post in a thread, and so it doesn't seem like it's worth the change. It just feels wrong.
When someone clicks on a thread for the first time, they would want to read the first post first. The more recent posts could contain spoilers. Also, people who are more likely to want to read the most recent post may have posted in the thread themselves already, in which case they would be subscribed to it, and thus receive a notification in their "participated" section. Clicking on the thread in "participated" takes them to the most recent post, anyway.
Nice effort, though! Sorry for the rant.
Although, if it seems like a lot of other people are for it, I guess I wouldn't mind keeping it.

The more answers to a post, the longer you have to go to the start message, which is kinda annoying if it s a sales thread and you want to see the items

Ok, the examples listed below make perfect sense, especially for the market! I've made a few adjustments so that you'll be back to normal trade, with the flip only affecting the boards below. I'll leave the poll for a few more days though. At the end of the week if the majority is no, I'll just clear and delete it. Digging is the essence of presearing. We all have the patience for sifting through the junk to find the gems. Plus it makes the Temple of Dhuum look like a mad god runs it.. and I for one don't feel comfortable saying that in public.. I sent someone a link to it, and now it makes even less sense to the uninitiated...

It's a 50/50 thing. It's nice for some threads so you don't have to dig to see what they say about your offer but on the flip side you do have to dig for the original post but...this can be remedied by them adding another post with the current loot pool. However for the guides, It would be better to have it not flipped so people can get to the main bulk first. So with a little work and adapting this can work pretty well. As we know though old folks dont adapt as well so we'll see.
like for example: if you're like me and when you have a lot of items to keep track you have a notepad with the list. You can just delete the items as you sell them and copy and paste the remainder onto a new post on the same thread and say that's what left and people can bid on the leftover. this would be a good adaptation of the flip.
