IDK Love, I farm a lot all over, and when I first started I used to count on wiki's guides to find areas.
Pages like
wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_vaettir_farming were very helpful.
IDK if you remember Vaettir Bombing with the sin in Shadow Form, leaving from Sif and picking up Budger along the way.
It was a hell of a first run but the drops were awesome. If I remember correctly the build used to be on that page.
There was also the 600 smite monk builds that worked well there for awhile.
With all of the botting things did change though.
Skills were nerfed leading to the end of some farming builds, and ENTIRE explorable areas were nerfed as well.
I used to get all of my ectos way back from the tombs.
It was a fun run until A-Net came along and nerfed it.
Now ectos never drop in the first or second room according to Wiki,
but if you play through it, they actually never drop at all.
Adding Dhuum to the UW was the deterent for solo farming bots there.
That too, used to be fun, especially with a 55 monk.
It' exhilarating watching all of the foes drop dead around you.
To me, it's just laziness on the part of A-Net, and that right there is the problem.
You don't want to report bots to A-Net, because it backfires.
They don't go after the botters and ban accounts only, even though that would be the right way to do it.
They nerf entire explorable areas, screwing the real farmers and other players in the process.
It's easier for them. (LAZY)
I still 55 HM on Nebo during events though.
I just have to avoid the mesmers, which is doable.
I know it's a deterrent for botters, so I deal with it.
As for the vaettiring, I get A LOT of golds still with my ele,
But I do it in 3 sections of about 20 per.
They drop a hell of a lot more if you split it up.
I know it takes more time, but you're out there anyway, so what the hell!
I don't think, myself, that A-Net penalizes farmers.
You have to farm to work the game. It's a given!
Grinding is farming! Gathering Nick Items is farming.
To get the Luxon/Kurzick faction you have to farm.
Why would they make that the mainstay of the game and then penalize honest players for it?
Try different methods of vaettiring and see if anything changes.
For one, try playing offline...it takes the spotlight off if you really are labeled.
But I don't think you are, it's just crazy random how some people are luckier than others.
