Hey all, nice to meet you. My Guild Wars account is 144 months old but I've never attempted a permanent pre character. Coming back to this game for the first time since GW2 released, LDoA has always been a lingering goal in the back of my head. I've checked out some guides and resources for levelling, but are there any general tips/profession builds you could immediately recommend for a new pre-player? I'm really enjoying the change of pace, everything seems much more relaxed and comfy, despite being so restricted and self-contained. Thanks!

Welcome back! Yeah pre is great and so are prema pre characters. I used to have a bunch of level 19s. I'd recommend using either ranger necromancer or elementalist as your primary. And not turning in the quests for exp until level 16. You can repeat charr at the gate and/or do oakheart/charr runs to get to 10. From there you can do charr runs/vanguard quests to get to 20. If you're going for survivor too you have to be more careful of course. If you go ranger bonus bow ranger is good. If you go necromancer death magic necro is good. If you go elementalist fire magic ele is good. Good luck!

I'd recommend using either ranger necromancer or elementalist as your primary. I'd add Mesmer to that. About six months or so ago I tried a mesmer in pre and was rather amazed at how well that worked. Used a ranger secondary, for the pet and the troll unguent.

Hey welcome to the community, glad to hear you settled on ranger! Just remember you dont have to accept your secondary profession right away, you can use trial skills to see what you like best. Also check out our ranger guide: presearing.boards.net/thread/54/profession-guide-rangerPlease ask anyone if you need anything! We're a community for a reason!
