Hi
So i did a test on to see what dmg I could receive. I tested spiders(1-3dmg), hulking ele(2-5dmg), skelitons(5-10dmg), bandants(19-23/3-4dmg). The dmg was the same with VQ active and all armor pieces on vs naked and no VQ active. How is this true ? I did use 2 different characters. Monk and a Necro.

In that regard monk and necro aren't really two different characters, because they're both the same armor class. Base armor for max levels are 60 (mo,n,e,me), 70 (r) and 80 (w). Then you need to take into account the ranger's additional 30 armor vs elemental damage, and the warrior's additional 20 armor vs physical damage.
Here's some information, I didnt dig through, but maybe it gives you some insight. Follow the links of "armor rating" and "armor calculation". I'm not sharp enough to grasp all that. Good luck!

wiki -> damage calculationOps I miss typed.. I tested with a naked lvl 1 mes and a full geared lvl 13 VQ necro. Are you saying that each character has a naked armor of 60(mo,e,n,me) at lvl 20 and a + 5/7 armor to each piece/area ? I think the 60 armor is for post max armor gear. I originally was trying to see if it would be worth building a frenzy(I take double dmg)/retribution, Cyclone Axe and Symbol of Wrath char. I was mainly aiming for it to farm low lvl enemies for nick items. But I think there is not much a different in time vs a mo/ele. It only shaves off about 1.5 sec per a group. I don't know how much time it will shave off of skeleton,s seeing it's probably the fast's for that. But making a build based on farming skeleton,s would be kinda lame. But if i did want to make this build should I go with war or monk for prim class? I'm not seeing armor making a difference. So war prim would kinda be worst. I guess ill do the same test on charr be for I make this build ! Good stuff. It will help me calculate my attacks bedder. I don't know if the info applies to me receiving dmg.

The vanguard buff is active versus foes level 6 or higher.

Any one els have the same outcome as me ? If this is correct than armor signia's mods are werth using again A persion wuld just comple vc and remove its armor bonus. I'll test my thery on char later to see if I can see any difference in dmg I receive. EDIT: PS I't might be that the vq equals no armor vs enamys of lvl 6 and under. vq armor bonus does say that it bypasses all armor gear worn. I'l have to test a geard and naked char without vq active.

wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vanguard_Initiate"The armor boost is active vs. all foes level 6 and higher. Profession specific armor bonuses, such as the Warrior's +20 armor vs. physical damage and the Ranger's +30 armor vs. elemental damage, are automatically applied by the buff. This allows you to remove armor pieces and still maintain profession specific armor passives through the buff. Armor-boosting insignias are still effective vs foes level 5 and lower but are overwritten and ineffective vs foes level 6 and higher."
