I just retrieved my 14 years old account, after having it gone for about 12 years and apparently used for botting. When I came back, I didn't have any of my characters, hacker characters were low level and minimum 120 months old. One of his characters was level 8 in pre searing and I managed to get an Everlasting Kuunavang Tonic in an anniversary gift. The plan was to get rid of everything, but I wanted to see if I could sell some of the fancy stuff I got, particulary that everlasting tonic, before getting rid of the character.
I told him I saw on price check that it was worth 36 armbraces. No idea if it's a proper price, he proposed me 15a first, then instantly said he was going to pay me for 36a. To be honest I was expecting a scam and I didn't really care if that happened. He explained me he generally use two accounts in same time to do his pre to post deals so it's more convenient, but his brother was currently using the other PC or something.
I thought yeah, whatever, gonna get scammed anyway, if I don't, cool, if I do, don't care. He told me to add him on his other account and to meet him in Lion Arch d1. Obviously no more signs of him afterward, he logged off and never showed up on his other account. I just arrived in pre searing and I retrieved my account less than 10mins ago, so I immediatly contacted the guild wars support that unlocked me my account.
Amazon Alexa [KK] from the same guild just showed up, until I talked to him in local, since he was offline. I suspect it is one of his accounts. Once I mentioned his scam, he instantly vanished again. He was in party with Fierce Snoopy [rawr].
EDIT : Can confirm, Amazon Alexa = The Mighty Shadow X same account.
In addition to the things previously said and shown I also add this video, taken today, which show text chat conversations in the local channel between The Mighty Shadow X, the players in the town and me :
This video has also been sent to the Guild Wars support, hoping that it will help to bring justice and get his account banned.
Not sure if it matters, but +1 to Dargas' claim. The person who scammed him randomly messaged one of my alt accounts asking if "Anet still bans people for scamming people in trades?" Keep in mind, this was after he was blasted in all chat as a scammer in pre ascalon.
What's even funnier, is that the person who scammed him originally offered to buy my Pre mini Oni for 70armbraces before asking if Anet stills bans for scams; he couldn't understand why I didn't want to trade with somebody so unwilling to use a Mod or to go first, especially after being labeled as a scammer lol.
Also worth mentioning, it looked like the person in question had at least 3 accounts.
