Howdy all! I have a question and would like to see what kind of discussion it will spark:
How can all of us improve presearing?
Is there events or parties players can organize that you would be interested in?
Is there forum/website changes we can make?
Is there something we as a community should bring up to the dev team? Think small QOL improvements like the gate/graphic and report changes.
Keep things in the realm of possibility but dont be afraid to think big, we have a large active community I'm sure we can do something cool.

As far as a small/big change in the game I think they should add skills to the skill trainer that match skills used in presearing only. I don’t think it would effect play that much but give more creative options for the players.

I like that idea, the bosses get a few extra skills on us that aren't too overpowered for the most part.
and the skill trainer only becomes available from level 10 on, so it wouldnt affect normal searing players who usually leave before that.

My point exactly. There are several water magic spells use by many foes along with a couple other fire that would make eles better for combat hybrids (conjure fire ^^)and would give eles another element to play around with. Wars would get 2 strength skills and another tactic skill other then healing along with a few more hammer and sword skills. Monks would get better healing spells all with their own penalties such as more energy, sacrifices health and healing everything around it. Mez would get some great skills from over the wall. Rangers would get a much more useful attack skill along with a spirit to aid them. And necros would get some very useful curses since the curses they have now aren’t all that great IMO. Like I said before nothing too over powered but a lot more options for multiple classes and would make things a bit more balanced with more options from almost all the skill lists (sadly I couldn’t find and earth magic skills on my first go around of research).

they should make charr scale like vanguard foes and at lvl 20 they should be like hardmode foes making harder to farm/slower runs. keep purple stats the same just add some skins and make them drop more often. I pretty much only play pre and only farm purples and the runs become boring bc too easy, I end up making new chars just to make it interesting and delete once level 15/16 and start over. or maybe add new foes/area of higher lvl and give better bd dye chance
something that would make solo almost impossible without doing perfectly to encourage ppl to party

^ too much of a change imho.
Adjustments should be done very carefully/thoughtfully. The overall presearing setting/atmosphere/... (which kept people in there for way over 10 years now ) can easily be destroyed, when asking for too much. On the other hand, how does one define "too much". I don't know. I would be okay with Metro's suggestion I think.
Anyway, I think it's less about adjusting the game itself, but more about bringing forward the community - which also is what I get from the original post.
The community ingame already is real nice and helpful. Those who misbehave are either ignored or rebuked. All good. Every now and then there's a trash talking troll but since noone is feeding it, it would starve eventually. All good. All those give-aways, I don't get how you all can afford those, are very good for the community as well. There's some who just grab the price and quit, but I guess there's also some who stay, and the community has grown once again.
Maybe - if someone or a few people are enthusiastic enough - some sort of ingame ascalon chat quiz can be pulled off (or similar). Just to expand the community events from the forums into the actual game. Huge prices aren't even necessary I think. Most people, especially those who don't have played in pre for years - would be super happy about 5 black dyes for their armor.
Best regards.

I have a suggestion for the site. Is there any way you could put how many times a single thread is viewed? For me if I’m selling something I don’t want to keep bumping my thread up if no one is looking at it.

I wish we could get the new bag / beltpouch runes in pre
I'm sure adding a new npc trading them for black dyes is a no-go, but, perhaps trading b-day vouchers for them? Idk, I would guess modification of the existing voucher trader would be easier than a new npc. I'm unsure if all the voucher guys in ac(pre)/la/gtob/kama/sjm all share code, but, even having the voucher for a rune at every one wouldn't be horrible.

Thanks for bringing us back on topic Looney, What about making it a collector thing with prof. yakkington? But for a currency other than flowers.. I agree the runes would be cool, but they should be much more expensive in pre than in post so as not to devalue them there.

They could make it a super rare drop from a GoTH. I’m thinking along the lines of a mini vizu rarity.

An option to enter the PvP without leaving permanently for level 10+ characters. Maybe I'd actually see it again after all those years.

That would be great, it doesnt even have to offer rewards... just something fun to do! The arena still works if you leave pre, it seems to appear if multiple people leave at the same time.
