Just so you know, it's not Linkin Park only that sticks to me, here's the song that got replaced by Shadow of the Day in my head:
I'm playing Rocket League and must confess that I find myself humming some of the tracks at times. Games, movies, tv series - all are great sources of music - all type of genres, with or without lyrics. GW has some nice music as well.
I've never seen @ladylyn posting here, hmm.

I've never seen @ladylyn posting here, hmm. I don't think anyone here wants to hear "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" circa 1890. Besides, I haven't figured out how to hook up my Gramophone to my computer yet, and even if I could, there's no visual on a Berliner Disc!

Phew, there must be some "modern" version of your fav oldies. Nah, Nothing Beats The Originals! Well, on the other hand.....Maybe..... There is no instrument more pure and moving than the human voice!

But, despite the fact that I listen to classic rock all day while I do my thing...
I absolutely LOVE this group and others like it:

Yay, @ladylyn posted! I agree that voice is a powerful and kind of unique instrument but if I had to choose only one I think I just couldn't.
I knew RB, I think most people do. (They're still played on the radio and even TV sometimes in my country) I didn't know Shadowfax but the song is nice. However I prefer classical / acoustic guitar over electric. Old, wooden intruments have some hidden charm in them.

(They're still played on the radio and even TV sometimes in my country) I didn't know Shadowfax but the song is nice. However I prefer classical / acoustic guitar over electric. Old, wooden intruments have some hidden charm in them. You're Just Too Cute! Bill Medley's beautiful deep and warm baritone/bass was the perfect compliment to Bobby Hatfield's clear and crisp tenor. You could never choose between them because they were two very distinct, yet different, perfect vocal instruments. Each was as perfect for it's part in the music as any flute or bass clarinet would be for their parts in a symphony. As for Shadowfax, they were one of several groups I listened to in the 80's that were signed to Windham Hill Recordings. That was the era of "New Age" music, and some of it was really nice. (some of it was really crappy too! ) But Windom Hill, to their credit, signed mostly the best artists, who delivered the most mellow sounds. IDK if you're familiar with Vangelis or Yanni, but they too were signed to WHR. The music was often geared towards calming, relaxation and meditation. I still play those recordings from time to time when I need a change!
