It should look like this...

Pick "save as" and use the file name ChatFilter.ini and save it at c:\users\<username>\my documents\guild wars\ in UTF16 LE encoding, which seems to work best others seem to not count some characters as the same, even if they are, but reside in multiple sections of the unicode character set (really that is a guess, but, only explanation i can think of.)
DO NOT USE UTF-16 BE ENCODING IT WILL CRASH GUILD WARS
If you are in the right spot u will see the screenshots and templates folders.

It will look like this after its in place.

If the file doesn't have the gear icon it DID NOT save as the correct file type.

Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > uncheck "hide known file extensions".

Hiding file extensions may have ended up with ChatFilter.ini.txt where the .txt is hidden, so once you no longer hide them you can correct it.

If all goes well you should see zero web spam. The filter rules should be self explanatory,

<rule> = Suppress, Any removes the whole line <rule> is in

You can also just censor words using the format

<rule> = Censor, Any

BTW, the mmog and mm0g rules are my attempt at getting pretty much every version of mmogamersmarket at once...

Perhaps I should add

mmög = Suppress, Any
mmøg = Suppress, Any
mmōg = Suppress, Any
mmõg = Suppress, Any

Soooo... if you start off already blocked, the ppl who DON'T want to see you WON'T see you unless they turn off their block list.

One would think HIDING makes more sense to avoid reports than the new day, new ad, new filter rule needed, and obvious new dude to report lol.

It's windows 7, should be similar on other versions.

Win 7 notepad doesn't support utf-16 encoding, which you can also use. I think win 10 does (or use a different notepad type proggy), but, plain unicode it works fine.

No clue why. I've been using plain unicode with no issues. I'll be honest I haven't been in game to test the 3 most recent new rules.
