I’d be happy to! In the past I ran into a common problem while charming. Every time the bear would break a charm it would break the tanks agro and run to the charmer and the charmer would have to get out of his range to get back on the tank. It also uses a lot of time to reset. What I learned was if you pull the bear out at his maximum range he can travel before breaking his agro, and have the charmer stand away from that maximum range, the bear will not break away from the tank. Also I believe that this allows the bear to travel further toward the tank after using his brutal mauling skill. I have tried this method on one bear three times and all at a fast pace. One at 38 minutes, the second at 18 minutes, and the third at 5 minutes. I think I need to sit down sometime and make a detailed guide for this.

I myself have never charmed a bear, but with so many requests for info, I found myself pulling big parts of the guide off of GW Wiki so that we had something for the members to try, at least. A few days a go I took a really good look at what was here, and realized it did need a lot of rewording. I didn't want us to have a permanently plagiarized wiki guide, and I noticed that some of the wording was vague. After rewording it, it does sound more like what you are doing now, The tank pulls the bear (who's back is to the charmer) just out of casing range (1.2x aggro bubble). Just before he leaves range the charmer casts and if all works out, the bear never notices and continues his attacks on the tank. If you write something up from an experts point of view, I'll be more than happy to delete this one. I'll just move the other members posts into a discussion thread so that they are not lost. So, Go for it Love!!!

It may take a bit because I’ll need to do pics and word everything right. When I have time I will try to get something made.

Well, I reworded wiki's, so take as much as you need of what I wrote if the wording is good for you. When ever you're ready , no rush, just post it in the stables here. We'll sticky yours, I'll unsticky this one and delete the main post, leaving the member chat for reference. Just don't feel rushed, enjoy the process! Writing guides can be a lot of fun!

It's perfectly possible to deathlvl a bear.
But as it seems the described charming method doesn't work on every bear. Some bears are stubborn that way. So you could have wasted your time deathlvling a bear on which the charming method doesn't work. Meaning you would have to kill it and deathlvl a new bear.
Don't forget that you have to deathlvl it with 2 characters, the charmer and the tank/diversion.

I have a dire bear but I did it the old fashion way. Just max out your BM att and tank groups with only the bear attacking. Th bear need to deal more dmg then it is healed. Oak hearts are great to start with.

I have two accounts running in parallel, and I'm currently trying the video's and metro's method. The problem I have, that the bear will interrupt me the moment he puts his paws back to the ground after his "brutal maul". Afterwards - when it doesn't matter anymore - sometimes it will chase the tank, sometimes it goes after the tamer.
I've been trying for 1.5h and several bears have been killed in the process.
There are comments below the youtube video stating that it still works as of yet (Feb 14th '19)
(Worst thing is I had a bear, a hearty one. I gave it away to get a dire bear.)

It still works. I helped someone a week ago get one. Try having the tank start running when the bears brutal maul bar get between the b and the t on the skill. I have found out that sometimes that makes him run further out after he uses the skill. Bears are tricky. They like to change how they act all the time.

I believe that's going the right direction. I have always thought I had to be super fast when he starts mauling.
I have one now, though. In my case the "brutal maul" was like half way through before I simultaneously started running and taming.
Edit: I also muted the ingame sounds, and instead listened to some youtube johnny cash playlist... Maybe bear likes that.
Edit2: I also changed the tank from lv18 warrior to lv10 monk. Don't know if that's making any difference. Just for the records.

It is still possible to deathlevel and charm bears in Pre. Somehow the last 4 bears I dl'ed turned out unevolved. Whats up with that?

Maybe typing "/petname" helps to reset the name (if you havent done that already)
