Greetings everyone,
I guess I should say I'm almost new - I played for a couple of months 6-7 years ago. Decided recently to come back and enjoy this game, as I've always heard great things about it. I'm looking to stick with just one character, so I'll be in pre-Searing for a bit. Look forward to seeing y'all in game.

I decided on an elementalist. Not really sure how friendly that class is for new players, but since I usually play melee, a caster looked fun.
Any advice on what a good second profession would be for someone exploring the game for a first time?
Edit: And another dumb question - is it worth salvaging any of the salvage items that drop in pre-Searing. Not exactly sure if there's a use for them that I'm not seeing.

Some tips for ele. Since their armor is extremely low use walls or well anything you can find to hide behind and try to poke your head out just enough to hit your target. Also with enchanting the chaots strip them from you and do damage so if you cast a second enchant after it they will remove the most recent one you casted. Watch out for double chaots. Good secondaries are monk for amazing late game and ranger for great safe heal and pet.

Some items are worth salvaging. Sometimes a blue item, once identified, will say "highly salvageable." The amount that the salvaged materials sell for will be more than the cost of the salvage kit use and the sale price of the item combined. |

if you go on playing the game and don t stay in pre, i d recommend mesmer as secondary class.
