Still trying to wrap my brain around what has value and what does not (have read guide here which has helped). Anyway picked this up today normally would vendor it but thought maybe it would make a good base - though who uses air magic in pre?
Insightful Air Staff of Defense halves skill recharge of spells (14%) Energy +8 lightning dmg 8-12 req 5 air reduces crippled duration on you by 20% energy +4 armor +5
Is this just a merchant item or is it something I should hold onto?

This is a merch. So yeah your energy is beautiful at 8 and 14% hsr of all spells is a great high roll. Thats exactly what your looking for on a base. The req is only for the staff weapon dmg if im correct so tbh it doesnt really matter because as an ele your not gonna rely on your weapon dmg your gonna be doing spell dmg. Now the Inherent roll on this staff is the reduced cripple which is complete butt cheeks and makes the staff merch food. For an ele staff you 100% are gonna want the inherent to roll Half Casting Time Fire Spells 18% That sole stat is what makes it a viable base staff. Now people are gonna pay alot more for that inherent on a Fire Staff that way they can have the weapon damage (for no reason other than swag) and because the skin is yummy.
