What about a thread with a tutorial on the gw command line arguements? wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line_argumentsLike if you don't use a multiloader and want to quick swap by using seperate shortcuts set up to login each account automatically by using -character , -email, -password. (One accnt at a time obviously, but fast to change between running accnt.) Or -image for a fresh install to dl everything Idk, it's pretty useful stuff (still need to try -lodfull which (omg!) was NEW FEATURE a few days ago.)

OOOH, Looney !!! Didn't you just say in a pm you don't do computer stuff? liar Gotcha!!! Actually, the old site had one of those, but it's based on older versions of windows. You can check that out here : Command Line SwitchesThat link does refer you to GW Wiki however, where the information may be updated for more recent versions of windows. Check out that info here: Command Line Arguments which is probably the same info you have, (I didn't follow your link) but the Tutorial is on the old forum FAQ. Above and beyond that, I can help you no further. I am going to move this over to Tech support though, Maybe some of our more comp savvy members will see it there and pick up the ball on this! Good Point to bring up though, when I saw that on the old site I was wanting to know more about it myself! Hopefully we'll get someone interested in taking on that project! Thanks Love!

@ladylyn I thought it would be good for a guide like the emotes one. I looked at the old sites page and it got me interested.
-lootlog !?! Perhaps using -lootlog "c:\temp\loot.txt" was/is supposed to make a log file of drops? That one really makes me wonder. (imagine how redfireball would feel if gw made his logs for him lol)
[moved it LOL]

Oh Looney ...I lusted after that info myself! Interestingly enough, in the reverse of your train of thought, It was seeing that guide that inspired me to put up an emote guide. I used GW Wiki, GuildWiki, Guru and the GW Game Manual to gather all of the ones that we have. I figured if we're gonna have it we might as well have it complete! (I did the same thing with the Dictionary/Glossary) It's the constant quest for knowledge that keeps us young! I don't understand it enough to translate it into a tutorial, which I will gladly read, and hopefully learn from ~ rotfl. Also starting Monday after Easter I'm beginning work on the Presearing Area Guide. That's going to take a bundle of time, which is why I'm tying up loose ends now! Anyway, I'm going to announce this and maybe we'll get a bite! As for tagging.... Lesson 1, the original forum names on this site are all lowercase and only 1 word. So, when you use the @ sign for me it would be ladylyn. But to tag Akara, who changed his name, you would have to look him up in the member roster, or find a post of his and hover your cursor over his name to get to mavygr. then use the @ sign in front of that Remember, if you did it correctly, when you create your post and look at the finished product... You will see a name that is a yellow hyperlink with no @ in front of it Hope we get a good bite with this, I really want to learn that stuff!

@ladylyn I know how to tag, I'm just on an android tablet so there is no 'hovering' to see it. Closest I can do is longpress and see the profile in a new tab and find the right id there... but I try and guess

The guide that you linked from the old presearing.com is good - that's really all there is to it, as far as I'm aware. EDIT: key point that I noticed the guide doesn't mention, however, is that you must put a space after the GW file path, before putting in the command.

Tbh this comment on the wiki talk page is better for win7 (maybe 8+ too)
If u edit the regular gw shortcut sometimes the 'target' box is greyed out (depends on admin privileges) so making a new shortcut works better. It depends if the windows user accnt is an admin or not weather or not you can edit the original gw shortcut's target.

Hey Love, You feel like copying and pasting that for this site, and adding in that spacing part you just mentioned? Maybe I can take a look at it, and (after digesting it) reword it somewhat after the Area Guide is done. That will be a few weeks down the road though, I want to cover all the outposts and explorable zones... ...Unless of course you want to do it all, start to finish? ^^ C'mon ishalldefend , aren't you sick of seeing my avatar all over your Guides Boards?

The spacing is covered at the top of the wiki page (my link/lyn's other link)
Those screenshots are a bit old too, it's pretty similar to how they are still set up tho so idk if new ones will be helpful or not

Write the desired command line arguments after the quote marks with a space between each argument. For arguments that require a text string the text is in quotation marks with a space between the argument and text string.
would start gw, fill in Moldy Bread as the char name, that login email addy, and -fps adds the current frames per second counter
as far as I've noticed the order doesn't matter as long as each is typed correctly.

I'll copy the info from the old presearing site to a new thread in the tech support board, if that would be the best place for it - I'll do it this weekend. EDIT: I'll also add in the stuff that it missed, and maybe some other new stuff. EDIT: I'll see if I can make it less confusing!
