Hello, it appears that we also need a Monk Guide.
Once again - Until we get a Full On Dissertation,
Here is a Basic Guide with Outside Links to help get you started.
Primary Monk
After looking at the Presearing Skills Guide:
@ List of Presearing Skills
One can see that the 2 most valuable attributes for a Primary Monk in Presearing
are Smiting Prayers and Healing Prayers for Damage and Health respectively.
A Character should definitely make use of those 2 Minor (+1 to attribute) Runes on their armor.
Protection Prayers has 2 Skills, and depending on how much you use them,
you should add that Rune as well.
There are no Divine Favor skills in Presearing, however DF does have perks beyond the skills.
It IS the Monks Primary Attribute with good reason, One of which is that:
For each rank of DF, your ally is healed for 3.2 whenever you cast a Monk spells on them.
You can read more about that Attribute (and decide whether or not to sport the Rune yourself).
As for the remaining Runes, Always use +30 Vigor, You will need it anyway after Level 8 or 9.
Whatever other spaces are available, should have Insignias & Runes that favor HP. (Health)
This is especially so since, as a caster, the Monk Basic Armor Is very low. (It stinks!)
Some may disagree, and opt for more energy instead, that is really each player's personal choice.
Both HP and Energy can be balanced out between each character's weapons and armor buffs.
Your secondary profession, is again, a matter of personal choice.
Keep in mind that you will NOT have the Primary Attribute for ANY secondary profession chosen.
You can apply points to the secondary attributes though,
to make the secondary profession's attacks stronger.
Having an Ele myself, with a secondary Ranger (and therefore pet),
I personally found this to be a waste of attribute points.
However if Ele were my second profession, I would definitely use points on the Fire attribute, so...
It really depends on your choice of secondary profession.
Also, PLEASE See the Guides Board for more information on Professions in General.
There are also guides there with some info on Area Foes, Profession Quests,
tips for Charr Hunting, The Vanguard Quests & even tips for Leveling Up!
I Hope this Basic Information and the Redirects help! Don't hesitate to ask for more.
If we don't have a Full Guide by then,
I'll look around to see what else I can find!
Good Luck,
Lady Lyn
