From my own observations 10-16 staff is much rarer than 10-16 wand (maybe redfireball could comment on this), so perhaps that explains the old exaggerated description.

I think that what we have listed as maximum damage stats is off a little bit, we already have evidence that it is (for example Akaras 16%HSR find on a staff).
To understand the thought process behind my theory lets back up a little. I read somewhere that the devs put in pre pretty late in the development of the game. I assume, since GWs charme is mostly based on having to interact with people, that they did this to create a place where a lot of people would hang out and "greet" new players, help them etc.
Let s face it, if pre weren t there you d try to get out of OldAscalon asap. Therefore it probably would be empty there. The - to the eye more or less unappealing - design of that whole area paired with little to none players isn t really a good promotion for a new game you just bought. So they put pre in.
Now, how do you keep people coming back to the tutorial, especially people who already played the game a while and can show new players how GW works and tell them it s actually awesome? You create a reason to be there. And that s how the LDoA title was born. A title, extremly hard to obtain, so those people actually come back and stay a while to get it and eventually actually stay there with that character to show off.
Now you have to add weapons to that presearing, that actually make it possible to get that title, let s face it you don t wanna beat up lvl 16 Charr with a 9-12 dmg sword. But they also don t want to add max dmg weapons to the game, that would make it too easy to get to the point where you have to start deathleveling, also people will maybe take those weapons to post and have the feeling that the first few mission aren t challenging.
So they look at the rarity system they have in post. In post, purple weapons can have max dmg stats but the inherent mods are only 50-75 % of the max mod, gold can have 75-100%. For example: An armor inscription can drop as +5 +6 +7 +8 +9 or +10. If the shield is purple it can be above 50% of the range, which is between 7 and 8, but can t be over 75%which is 9. If the shield is gold it has to be minimum of 75% (9) but max 100%(10)
So they say okay, lets max purple weapon in pre searing at 75% of the max value of the same weapon in post Which would actually fit the max-values we have in our list quite well.
75% of 16 armor is 12, 75% of 12 energy is 9, 75% of 22 is 16.
Edit: The inherents still all follow the post patterns, was writing nonsense here earlier.

Inscribed Chakram added to list of focus skins. Not sure if it's the metal or wooden type that's available in pre-searing.

Updated the maximum values of +health while stanced/enchanted for shields, and +health while enchanted for offhands. The value was originally listed in this guide as +43, but it's been confirmed by redfireball that it is in fact +39 (as I suspected).
If anyone has any information to the contrary, please let me know.

Changed the max value for +armour (while health is below 50%) for offhands - the max is 9 in pre, but we had it incorrectly listed as 5.

Yeah! I actually found two recently - one deals dark damage, the other lightning. So, according to staff damage types on the wiki, both of those could technically be ritualist attribute staves (q0, obviously).

What is the max dmg for a Sephis Axe? Is it 6-12? I think it may be lower than that. I'll have to check some of my items.

Let me know if you've found something Well, the highest I have is 5-9 dmg (came from a hidden stash), but I haven't killed a whole lot of undead. I guess you would have to kill Skullreaver a lot to find out. Did you have a higher dmg sephis than mine?

Ι was thinking it would be nice to post the min-max damage values for each skin listed in the first post. E.g tribal axe has max damage 6-16 at q3 (white/blue rarity). So that we know which of these are rare collector items and which are more common. I will try to contribute to this in the next month or so...
