Added skills to the presearing skill trainer to help improve tutorial play by filling out lacking attribute lines and by introducing effective starter combinations and mechanics. The skills chosen (prophecies & core) are of course intentionally selected to not completely out of wack presearing balance. Oh and yes it would also liven up presearing for the presearing community ;-)
Warrior: Rush (intro to movement speed and stance canceling) Crushing Blow (a chain skill for knock down and improvement to hammer) "To the Limit!" (intro to adrenaline builders and shouts)
Ranger: Call of Haste (supportive of an effective pet play style) Scavenger Strike (intro to skill combinations and energy managment, cross profession as well) Hunter's Shot (scavenger strike combo)
Monk: Watchful Spirit (intro to divine favor and preemptive heals) Contemplation of Purity (intro to hex/condi removal and self-teardowns)
Necromancer: Suffering (intro to long duration party wide pressure skills)
Mesmer: Leeching Signet (intro to interupts and energy management) Phantom Pain (intro to heavy degen stacking, synergy with shatter delusions)
Elementalist: Lightning Stike (intro to air magic spike and overcast benefited spells) Stone Daggers (intro to earth magic) Iron Mist (intro to earth magic armor spells, overcast intro, synergy with air/fire/water spells) Ice Spear (intro to water magic) Frozen Burst (intro to pbaoe and water hex snares)

I would add signet of capture to the skill trainer to gain skills charr bosses use (+ potentially turning few of the existing mobs into bosses to allow a wider choice of skills). Nothing too dramatic, just making at like 2 skills of each attribute available so that players can use different builds.

I m not sure about Bill the Bull (if he counts as a boss), but that would be the only other cappable elite in pre.
Would be better to just add a few skills to Halbrik, altho you have to be careful what you add, since this could get really unbalanced.
MarkOfPain in combination with CycloneAxe, LavaFont+Firestorm...that would just make hunting in the northlands a joke, and quite frankly, isn t very challenging already. The only thing I m on board with would be buffing the mesmer a bit, adding a rupt or 2, Cry of Frustration for example, maybe ChaosStorm. This would be an armor ignoring skill and therefor wouldn t be that devastating to the (regular) Northlands enemies.

/signed All of these ideas are excellent. I would like to add Assassin, Ritualist, Dervish, and Paragon in Pre. Mainly so I can use my bonus weapons from the pre-release packs

Mark of pain isnt powerfull.... Charrs have hex remove. And Spell has 20 recast. With tripple shot it would be unbalanced in pre;)

The other item about "fairness" regarding elite skills like barrage is that it removes preparations so it really wouldn't be the greatest skill cap. With favorable winds it might be ok but really at that point its just competing with skills like fire storm and ignite arrows for ranged aoe dot. The final item is what skills can warrior cap? The only warrior boss in pre that would be relevant for capping is skullreaver who doesn't have any skills. Devona, Rurik and Rogue Bull are not boss npcs so they cannot be captured.

I m pretty sure that the combination Firestorm+Barrage is overpowered.
regarding warriors: Griefblade but he has only Halbrik-skills Agnar the Foot is a boss i think... altho he only has a monster skill which you can t cap TowerGolem during SupremacyOfAir (0 skills tho)

What i would add is the northern half of the Northlands. You can only enter as lvl 20, you have to rescue Ben Wolfson (he got lost first), Tate (who went after him and never came back), Barradin (I´m pretty sure you can see where I´m going with this). After you bring them home safely you can open a chest and if you re lucky you get either a token that enables you to unlock purely visual changes on armor from post or maybe some EXP scrolls, maybe max runes. Vanguard Armor doesn t work there, enemies are lvl 20. Enemies don t drop weapons, just like the Vanguard guys, to not mess with the value of items. Make Tate and Barradin really suicidal, like Rurik used to be.

True, then I think adding something like ‘lesser signet of capture’ would do - allowing to catch only the regular skills and not only from bosses.

I would love if they added Tolkano to Pre.
You could buy skins for your /bonus weapons via Tournament Reward Points...

As others have mentioned: 1. Open up the rest of Northlands as a high level area. 2. Hard Mode option once you hit level 20 3. make the pvp instance that you used to do before leaving presearing available to presearing characters.
With that said I would want things to only drop items that can already be dropped by char in Northlands so no new stuff.

Great idea’s, especially the level 20 content in pre would be awesome! And pvp ofcourse, although I will probably play it once, suck at it and never touch it again haha.
I think it would be fun to have the other classes in pre as well, it would most definitely fuck up the balance and give a LOT more items to be dropped by the bosses but I think it could give more diversity and fun to have a dervish or ritualist!
Perhaps the possibility to obtain one regular skill tome in pre once you hit 20, through like a classbased challenge dungeon. Also able to get leaderboards there to see who’s the fastest.
I think the time has come for someone to rip the guild wars presearing code and develop it into a standalone game with unlimited options of additions and updates. I’d pay for that!
